Drone safety is everyone’s responsibility and all events planned for this week are designed to inspire and advance drone safety.

Drone Safety Awareness Week

All week long, the FAA calls attention to drone safety champions by promoting YOUR safety stories, successes, events, and educational programs. Everyone is welcome to participate in this weeklong campaign. Use these stories to engage with the public and help spread awareness about how drones are bringing value to your community!

How To Use Templates

Use Template Graphics

Let us help get you started with great looking designs for your online event. The DSAW sample graphics and PowerPoint designed templates provide a professional starting point for your content.  Templates come in black and white or color design with 16×9 or 4×3 aspect ratio to fit your overhead projector format.  Please use these as a starting point for your presentation content to maintain a consistent look and feel.

Streaming Your Event

How to choose a streaming provider

Streaming Your Event

Of course, your needs will vary, but here are some factors to consider when conducting a live streaming platform comparison:

  • Authentication: How can my audience access video content securely (and how can we ensure it will scale)?
  • Authorization: How can my team manage their video content? What permissions do they have?
  • Recording: Does the platform screen capture my event for archive easily?

We recommend using Zoom, Cisco Webex, Google Meet, YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Periscope, Instagram Live, or Twitch to name a few.  Consider using a screen recording tool like QuickTime to record the event for streaming after you hold the event.

If you need technical support email the DSAW Chair from the link at the bottom of the page with your question.

Post Production Goals

We want to promote you!

Post Production Goals

The stream for the event is the first hurdle to accomplish and you will want to record it.  Our team will promote a URL of your live event for viewing by people around the world after the week concludes.  We recommend publishing your event on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, or your own server to host the video.

Be user to tag your event video on social media using #UAST #DroneWeek.  Take pride in your event production as the best of the best will be promoted on official UAST and FAA social media channels.

If you do not know the archive URL then email the event chairman using the link on the footer of this page once you complete the event upload.
